Meredith & Tess chat about the challenges of running Boredwalk when outside vendors seem dead set on thwarting us at every turn, and the sneaky tricks those vendors use to continue behaving badly. Meredith then talks about her impending war against the crickets keeping her from getting a decent night’s sleep.
They also react to recent customer reviews and comments from Boredwalk’s social media posts. Turns out lonely frustrated men reflexively hate women on the internet — shocking, we know.
This leads to an interesting conversation about the intersection between social commentary and commerce and the cognitive dissonance displayed by self-professed progressive “allies” who begrudge other progressives charging a fair price for their goods & services by complaining about small businesses on platforms renowned for their hyper-capitalist tendencies. Make it make sense.
They also react to commenters answering the Question of the Day “what was the first alcoholic beverage you consumed?” Answers range from booze-infused chocolates, beer, Malibu & Coke, and spiced rum with a Cheez-It chaser!
They wrap up by trading questions from our forthcoming Venting and Joy editions of the Delve Deck! They rant about things that take too long (bathing, hiring employees) and share the best encounters they’ve ever had with strangers.
Visit boredwalk.com to get your very own Delve Deck and follow us on social media to answer our question of the day. Your response might make it on the podcast!
